Nanaimo Indigenous Soldiers

Yesterday, I took two indigenous teenagers to visit the Military Museum in Nanaimo. Great little museum, and the boys really enjoyed the exhibits. I was happy to see that there was a lot of local content, and that the museum had made efforts to honour the contributions of women and of indigenous people to our military. Missing, however, was any specific mention of local indigenous soldiers. Now I know that it can't be because there weren't any - I happen to know that that the two boys have ancestors who were soldiers. So, clearly an information gap. I feel a project coming on...
